Dualtouch-Update for X10 rolling out now

As announced back in December 2010, a software update will enable "pinch-to-zoom" (multitouch limited to 2 simultanous touchpoints) on the X10. This update is now rolling out.

The software update is available for the whole Xperia family, the X10, X10 mini (pro) and the X8, starting this week for the X10, and later on in the month for the minis and the X8.

However, the biggest advantage (and a feature that many have missed from the beginning) - the pinch-to-zoom functionality - is only available for the X10. It allows to zoom in and out in the browser and in the Google Maps application.

Other additions to the software are (according to SE, these might be available depending on network operators):

Addition of some bi-directional languages (Arabic, Farsi, Thai and Hebrew) – All products.Moxier in an updated version (2.7.13) that includes a great overview widget for e-mail, calendar and tasks.Moxier e-mail shown in Timescape.Possibilities of trimming videos in the phone.Videos are transcoded to fit into MMS-messages even if they were recorded in high quality.Minor changes to Mediascape with access to “Now Playing” in the top right corner.Other optimizations and bugfixes

The update is available either via the PC Companion software, or OTA (Over the Air) - now go and try your luck, maybe you are among the lucky ones who can already update :-)
